Happy New Year!

OK… I have to admit I’m a bit blue today. Weight In for today? 252.5 lbs. Crap! At least it’s less than last year’s weight in. Putting things into perspective…
I started my weight loss journey on February 15 of this year… and boy it was hard… I loss almost 25 lbs. in just four months BUT I re-gained 23 over the depression… and surgery.
In October 12 I restarted my journey from zero… Hopping to do better and I DID… I loss 12.5 lbs. in just 12 weeks. This results are NOT what I expected to have, but still is better than weighting more than what I weight last year this same day… For some reason I know 2006 will be better!!!

Me desperté un poco melancólica por lo del año nuevo… No se por qué, pero últimamente me sucede que me pongo triste cuando se acaba un año y comienza otro… Simplemente no puedo evitarlo. Yo se que no soy la única en el planeta que sufre de este desorden afectivo, SO aquí tienen un video para que pongan en pespectiva las cosas.

Después de todo… parece que no nos va tan mal aquí!

going to Culebra Island, Luquillo Beach, and El Yunque during our vacations.

And doing internal tourism in Old San Juan.

Hopefully we will be able to do it again the next summer.

Stress!!!

I have to confess I’m in stress over my weight. Why? Because I gained 1.5 lbs. during the last weekend… and I’ve gained a bit more today… But the worst is that, for me, and many Puerto Ricans, Noche Buena (Christmas Eve) is just the beginning of the holidays. Here’s a list of the festivities I have on my way… trying to ruin my weight loss journey.

Saturday, December 31 - New Years Eve Party @ Aunt Mary’s
Sunday, January 1 - New Year’s Brunch @ my Parents
Sunday, January 1 - New Year’s ‘Caldo Gallego Party’ @ Aunt Mary’s
Monday, January 2 - New Year’s Lunch @ my In-Laws
January 5 - Three Wise Men Eve Party @ Enid’s (a cousin)
January 6 - Three Wise Men Day BIG Party @ Mayra’s (another cousin)
January 6 to January 14 - ‘Las Octavitas’ …last eight days of X-mas in PR.
January 15 - Fiestas de la Novilla @ San Sebastián (Festival of the Yough Cow… We take a baby cow and dress her from head to toe… among other things)… I’ll show you photos when I go this year.
January 19-22 - Fiestas de San Sebastián @ Old San Juan

I’ll explain this holidays as they come… So, don’t worry If didn’t understood a bit of what I just wrote.

PLUS! Chuqui (my brother) will be here from January 6 to January 21. What does this means? Since food in the states is SO different to what we eat here, going to retaurants and ‘mesones gastronomicos’ plays a big part on my brother’s visit each year. He usually makes a schedule with all the restaurants and places he wants to visit. And, since I’m not working, I’m the one who goes with him. Resulting in extra pounds each year.

I just don’t know how I’m I going to keep losing weight during the next days! Any suggestions?

Me siento muy feliiiiiiiiiz… Me embarga la emociooooooooon! Gané el premio de el Blog Más Atractivo de Puerto Rico. Claro que el panel del jurado se componía de uno solo… y yo creo que lo compré de tanto visitar y comentar en su blog. Pero eso son otros $20. Al que no entiende ni papa de lo que hablo, vaya a ver ésto.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii… Ahora voy a tener el guille de llevar en la barra lateral de mi blog este botón. Verdad que está nítido? Lo hizo Shery.
